North Coast Local Land Services Community Advisory Group Members selected

The North Coast Local Land Services (NCLLS) has appointed 10 community representatives to establish a Community Advisory Group for the North Coast region. The Group has the role of providing advice to the NCLLS Board of Directors on NCLLS service delivery focus areas of sustainable and productive agriculture, natural resource management, biosecurity and emergency management.

The appointments follow a recent call through local media and advertisements for Expressions of Interest from across the community and stakeholder groups.

The Chair of NCLLS Board, Mr Kent Lee, is pleased with the high level and quality of applications received from the community. "The response to our call for applications was extremely encouraging as it demonstrated the high level of community skills and experience and the desire of the community to work with the NCLLS to achieve outcomes for our region".

The appointments provide representation across the focus areas, from across the region, and bring together a range of interests into a collaborative and effective Group.

The appointed members are:

David Cameron (East Lismore), Robert Quirk (Tweed), Cassie Price (Ballina), Tony Wilson (Kyogle), Bonnie Walker (Tuckombil), Garry Dew (Nana Glen), Terry Tibbett (Grafton), Patricia Beatty, (Coffs Harbour), Sue Salvin (Bowraville) and Terry Schmitzer (Byabarra).

"We are looking forward to the appointed members input on how we continue to deliver programs to support the regional community," Mr Lee said.

Further appointments may be made to the group to enhance the community representation and expertise and to establish the Group as a key component of the NCLLS's engagement strategy. The inaugural meeting of the Group is planned for September.
