9:30 Sign-on & Morning Tea on arrival. Welcome
10:00 Pam and Ben Warwick – Clarenza Pastoral an overview of their EU Export Beef operation and their interest in trialling compost.
10:30 James Parker - Jetty Research about the findings from interviewing 201 mid-north and north coast beef farmers about their knowledge and attitude toward using source-separated organics material as a composted soil amendment.
10:50 Introduction by Kel Langfield - Local Lands Services. About the NSW Government-funded “Expanding the market for source-separated recycled organics (compost) for improving soil health for beef grazing on the North Coast of NSW”. Overview of the paddock set up for the trial on the 4 properties involved in the project.
11:30 Nathan Jennings Local Lands Services - Demonstration of how soil samples were taken, the baseline soil sample results and pasture cages for control data. We will also look at the compost to be used in the demonstration.
12:30 Finish - lunch provided upon completion of field day.
