Group of attendees at a Landcare training eventA new Partnership Agreement has been signed by North Coast Local Land Services and Landcare on the North Coast.  The Partnership Agreement will ensure that both organisations will work collaboratively to achieve outcomes for our communities, landscapes and seascapes.

North Coast Local Land Services has a strong network of long-standing partnerships established across the North Coast region and continually works to develop new and strengthen existing partnerships.  North Coast Local Land Services supports a community-based delivery model by partnering with Landcare and other organisations across the region to support the community to undertake natural resource management and sustainable agriculture activities.

Landcare makes a considerable contribution to natural resource management and sustainable agriculture on public and private land, across a wide range of land-uses. Landcare provides an extensive network and support structure to support the community to address catchment, district, regional and state level issues.

Kent Lee, Chair of North Coast Local Land Services said, "We form partnerships with a range of organisations across the region who are working on achieving similar goals.  This collaborative approach leads to greater outcomes for the North Coast region and Landcare is an important partner in that approach."

Bob Jarman, President North Coast Regional Landcare said "Landcare and North Coast Local Land Services have been working together on the delivery of natural resource and sustainable agriculture services in the north coast region.  This partnership builds on previous collaboration and has been negotiated to ensure that this important work continues."

The North Coast Regional Landcare network provides a forum for the Landcare community across the region to come together and share ideas, experiences and issues. Bob continued, "It provides a mechanism to represent the collective views and objectives of the member organisations at a regional level."

Kent continued, "This agreement will result in greater public value from investment of public funds and simple and flexible processes to support landholder and community engagement.

This enables us to meet our goal of sustainable, productive agricultural industries and improved natural resource condition."

The North Coast is a region of vibrant towns, villages and communities that support diverse coastal and hinterland lifestyles. The people have a strong connection to their healthy, natural and productive landscapes and seascapes and the lifestyles, culture and opportunities they create.

"With local knowledge and a collective understanding of the unique features and challenges of the north coast region, the North Coast Local Land Services team supports the community to build healthy lifestyles, landscapes and livelihoods.  We are excited about working with Landcare on the North Coast to achieve those goals," Kent concluded.
